Objects Libraries and Effects (FSXP3D WH_BWEP Objects_SW.zip)

Version 5/30/17
============================

SPECIFIC SCENERY and OBJECT LIBRARIES ARE REQUIRED

IMPORTANT!!! Step One!!!!! Please install the custom Blue Wave Energy Partners Library of custom objects and effects found inside this archive. This file will contain all the required objects and effects to make the pipeline project visible to you inside the simulator as we designed it.

REGION REQUIREMENTS: At a minimum you must have ORBX FTX "Southern Alaska" installed to properly view the first segment of this ongoing scenery project. Other segments of BWEP in the future will require the nstallation of ORBX FTX "Global", "Vector" and "North American Landclass."

Also, please make sure you've installed ALL of the previously released and required Return to Misty Moorings libraries. Many objects from those libraries were used in the design of this product and you will need these as well as the BWEP Custom objects and effects found inside this archive. The RTMM Libraries are the required libraries that Return to Misty Moorings ask's you to install. It will look very different if you don't. DO NOT use this scenery with the default FSX or P3D scenery or any other payware such as Ultimate Terrain or additional mesh products in any form as objects WILL NOT align correctly. These scenery addon's are for use with FSX, FSX "Steam Edition", FSX with DX10 or Prepar3D in all of it's versions.

No ORBX objects were used in the creation of this scenery.

INSTALLATION OF BWEP OBJECTS AND EFFECTS

READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!!!!!

Unzip this file to a temporary folder.

You will see a main folder named FSXP3D WH_BWEP Objects_SW and inside that folder you will find that there are three subfolders and a couple of text files including the one you're reading for installation.

The three subfolders are named: Effects, Scenery and Texture. There is also a subfolder within the effects folder named Texture.

Step One: Locate the Read Me Effects .txt file and read it.

Now follow those instructions to install the Effects files and Texture files found in the Effects and Effects/Texture subfolder first. After you've done this, remove the Effects subfolder since you're done with it.

Next you should have two subfolders left to work with. One named "Scenery" and one named "Texture".

Place this main folder named FSXP3D WH_BWEP Objects_SW and it's two sub level folders, one named "Scenery" and one named "Texture and all files in those folders into your FSX or P3D "Addon Scenery" folder.

Start up FSX or P3D

Go to "Settings"

Then to "Scenery Library"

Click on "Add Area"

Click on "Addon Scenery"

Locate the newly installed folder for this package you just moved into your "Addon Scenery" folder.

Click on the main folder only. You do NOT need to open the "scenery" folder.

Then click on "OK"

And then "OK" again.

The simulator should begin to recompile your scenery library.

Please make sure the new scenery folder is above any ORBX entries in your simulators Scenery Library.

Your BWEP Objects and Effects have been installed and activated. Now you're ready to enjoy the scenery for this project once the scenery has been installed inside the simulator.

STORYLINE

The Blue Wave Energy Partners Pipeline is a loose interpretation of the actual Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS). That system includes the trans-Alaska crude-oil pipeline, 12 pump stations, several hundred miles of feeder pipelines, and the Valdez Marine Terminal. TAPS is one of the world's largest pipeline systems. It is commonly called the Alaska pipeline, trans-Alaska pipeline, or Alyeska pipeline, (or the pipeline as referred to in Alaska), but those terms technically apply only to the 800 miles (1,287 km) of the pipeline with the diameter of 48 inches (122 cm) that conveys oil from Prudhoe Bay, to Valdez, Alaska. The crude oil pipeline is privately owned by the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.

The pipeline was built between 1974 and 1977 after the 1973 oil crisis caused a sharp rise in oil prices in the United States. This rise made exploration of the Prudhoe Bay oil field economically feasible. Environmental, legal, and political debates followed the discovery of oil at Prudhoe Bay in 1968, and the pipeline was built only after the oil crisis provoked the passage of legislation designed to remove legal challenges to the project. In building the pipeline, engineers faced a wide range of difficulties, stemming mainly from the extreme cold and the difficult, isolated terrain. The construction of the pipeline was one of the first large-scale projects to deal with problems caused by permafrost, and special construction techniques had to be developed to cope with the frozen ground. The project attracted tens of thousands of workers to Alaska, causing a boomtown atmosphere in Valdez, Fairbanks, and Anchorage. The first barrel of oil traveled through the pipeline in 1977, and full-scale production began by the end of the year. Several notable incidents of oil leakage have occurred since, including those caused by sabotage, maintenance failures, and bullet holes. As of 2010, the pipeline had shipped almost 16 billion barrels (2.5109 m3) of oil.

MISSION STATEMENT

The "Blue Wave Energy Partners" pipeline project attempts, as much as possible, to replicate the characteristics and overall challenges facing a crude oil delivery platform similar to the actual Trans-Alaska Pipeline. By striking a perceptive balance between reality and arm-chair pilot, we can attempt to highlight the rugged Alaskan Frontier alongside an engineering marvel that the real world Trans-Alaska Pipeline is. However, this project is in no way an exact replica of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. It's not supposed to be anything but a fictional creation based on the real-world project. It won't follow the exact same course precisely and will not represent the correct layout design of the real pipeline. While the BWEP pipeline meanders along a similar path, it only uses the real-world pipeline as a guideline, not a rule! This is a fictitious design representation and while it is based on the real world counterpart, it's just a unique pipeline of it's own design that only takes inspiration from the real world edition. Again. It's not an exact duplication ot the real world TAPS. Please try to keep that in mind. This allows RTMM to take any liberties we choose with the route, layout, creation, placement of objects or any part therein to make it work for where it fits inside the current simulation platforms. This goes for both simulations our users currently have with Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Lockheed/Martin Prepar3d.
